Formentera Beaches
If there is something that is really characteristic of Formentera's beaches. Illetes: The beaches of Illetas located in the northernmost point of the island and the closest to the island of Espalmador, (a few 150m.) Are the most visited and frequented by tourists. You can access this area with any vehicle, although it is recommended to reach on foot or by bicycle, to better enjoy the landscape and contribute to environmental protection due to the continuous movement of people. Also, part of this area is not accessible by vehicles, only on foot, due to irregular terrain. The area of Illetas is one of the most complete in regard to recreational water sports (sailing, skiing, etc..), Restaurants, kiosks, deck chairs, parasols, basically everything you need to enjoy a full day on the beach. There is also a maritime routes service this area communicates with the port of La Sabina and Espalmador Island, which greatly facilitates the transport and access to other areas of interest in the island.

Llevant: Also located on the northern tip of the island, but in the lift, as the name suggests. This beach is also very long, and although it is the area closest to Illetas and therefore quite busy, due to its length it is possible to find quiet and secluded sites, though of course, no shortage of restaurants and kiosks, and its proximity with Illetas allowed to walk all the beaches just north of the island.

Sahona Creek: This small beach, despite its short length (just 200 m in length), is one of the most beautiful that can be visited. Migjorn: From Migjorn beach can be said to be one of the largest in the island, and its stretch of sand that covers much of the south coast of the island, almost from La Mola to Es Cap de Barbaria, these two points to be visible as far away from each other, from this beach. Its large size and geographic location, make this beach one of the least busy, and therefore, one of the quietest on the island, this does not imply that there is no typical restaurants and stands right beside the beach.
Espalmador: About 150 meters separate the island of Formentera from that of Espalmador. This island despite its small size of 3 square kilometers, lies many wonders inside. There are two ways to access Espalmador: one that performs a boat trip from the port of Formentera, to Illetas, and finally reaches Espalmador, or swimming can cover the distance separating the two islands (provided the weather and tide permitting). The most famous beach of this island is the "Platja de S'Algar" of great length, taking into account the size of the island, and considered natural harbor due to its closed form. The lookout tower (Torre de Sa Guardiola), which is located at the highest point, observe the passage of tourists along the coast of the island, which should not forget that this is private and as such should be respected and so much more considering that natural park is considered due to the large variety of fauna and flora that inhabits it. For this reason can not be found on the island any restaurant or similar establishment, since they are totally forbidden, but this makes it even more attractive the idea of visiting this little island and its beaches, which have not been altered by man.
